Saturday June 2 - Stratford Day
Asulado's first gig outdoors!! Our good friend and special guest, Alfonsina Betancourt, joined us. Alfon sings, plays guitar, Venezuelan cuatro and accordion. The sun was out and it was cooking. Stratford Day was a big success. It was so special to be a part of this event. Thanks to all who made it to the event, we were very happy to see you. A very special THANK YOU goes out to Marc Huberman for taking such wonderful pictures of the band!!

Thursday April 12, 07 - Bistro Du Soleil
Another stupendous night at the Bistro! Asulado made lots of new friends that day. We are so happy to have met all of you. A new instrument has been added to the Asulado repertoire: A Venezuelan cuatro that sounds as sweet as can be!

Sat March 03, 07 - WOMEN OF SONG III
Melissa Mulligan’s 3rd annual “WOMEN OF SONG” concert is a night of original music performed by some of today’s most dynamic and talented female singer/songwriters. Proceeds will go to The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County.
The night was a success and the place was PACKED. We had a great time and enjoyed all of the artists performances. The event raised $2,200!! Congratulations Mel! Keep an eye out for WOS IV 2008 :)

Sat Feb 3, 07 - FUSE - Norwalk
What a true honor to be part of this event. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of being part of this it, either as part of the audience or as a performing artist, we highly recommend you check it out and go to the next one (it's every couple of months). A unforgettable experience. Wait a minute.... I almost forgot to mention the most important thing: by looking at the pictures you can guess what I am about to say..... she did it (and so soon too) - ALFONSINA MADE HER ACCORDION DEBUT!! Enriching the Asulado original "Estoy" with subtle tunes and a very cool accordion instrumental, this was just too good to be true... nicely done Alfonsina!
Jan 18. 07 - Reality Cafe - Stratford
Our debut in Karen's home town was a success. We thank all of our old and new friends for joining us on such a wonderful evening. The venue is so great for live music. Two new originals made their public debut on this date as well: "Dependo de Ti" and "Estoy". We look forward to many more gigs in Stratford :) Ohhhh, and BTW, Alfonsina has been working hard on her accordion! WATCH out, one of these days we will surprise you with songs accompanied by this wonderful instrument. This is it for now... keep coming back!
Oct.23 Bistro du Soleil - just too much fun!! Our last gig at Bistro was great. Highlights included our new song written by Alfonsina - No Me Cansare and some new covers as well.

Oct.14 Festival de Mesas - Hispanic Heritage Celebration The Hispanic Heritage Comittee of Stratford hosted the second anual Festival de Mesas. The event was a success! We so honored to be a part of it. There was dance, music, poetry, community awarenes and BEST OF ALL FOOD FOOD FOOD - food from all over latin american countries. If you couldn't make it this year we strongly recommend you do not miss Festival de Mesas 2007!
Sept. 30, 2006 Stratford Library The Startford Library celebrated Hispanic Heritage month with a wonderful event featuring the art work made by children from St. James and St. Marks schools, storytelling in Spanish and English, crafts showcase and more. We were honored to represent Latin music for the second year in a row. Don't miss our upcoming appearance at the Festival de Mesas - Festival of Tables at the Stratford Town Hall Chamber!

Sept. 24, 2006 Groovy's Our debut at Groovy's was a hit. Our friends came from towns near and far showing their support... and we didn't let them down. Asulado delivered once more with great energy and entertainment. We are pleased to announce that Alfonsina is now an official member of Asulado. We really had to twist her arm to join us... We featured some new tunes and ended our gig introducing "Genesis": an Asulado reggaeton stlye farewell featuring John and Karen on percussion and Alfonsina on vocals. Tune in for our next chapter...

Sept 18, 2006 Bistro du Soleil We had a great time at the Bistro du Soleil. We played over three hours! We started out with our signature Asulado set to get everyone in the mood. Things were looking up, the crowd was pleased, the energy was rolling, we were all groovin'. The second set was on, and Alfonsina, our special guest at the time, turned on the heat. The momentum was building, clapping, dancing, singing we're starting to brew. The second set was a success, we were all having great fun, and then it happened: we tried to say good night but it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. We kept playing for more than an hour, mostly at the crowd's request -- mostly improvising ourselves. A dance floor was cleared, the party got started. We can't wait for our next gig at Bistro.
